Why? Partly because minimum auto-enrolment rates (5% employee, 3% employer) were never designed to be enough on their own.
Also bc 45% of working-age adults still aren’t saving into a pension, incl the vast majority of self-employed people. More has to be done to help them save.

Except they’re not saving into a pension, Minister unless we convert all those pots to CDC and give them what they think they’ve had for 14 years…
