Why? Partly because minimum auto-enrolment rates (5% employee, 3% employer) were never designed to be enough on their own.
Also bc 45% of working-age adults still aren’t saving into a pension, incl the vast majority of self-employed people. More has to be done to help them save.

Except they’re not saving into a pension, Minister unless we convert all those pots to CDC and give them what they think they’ve had for 14 years…
I did not find this , Torsten’s most impressive work (not sure it was his). But it at least remind us that we need to excite employers to get off their backsides and increase deferred pay for staff. They will get support for this from members and their representatives
