See the ability of the pension dashboard with Sara Weller!

If I had anything to do with the production of this video, I’d be pretty proud of myself and what I’ve done. I don’t have any pride for producing it but I’m proud that , since it’s on you tube, I can re publish it. Here it is.

I have never met Sara Weller but I know she has faced some tough challenges staying able as she has. She is Chair of MaPS and this is what she has to say about progress developing the Pension Dashboard

At the Money and Pensions Service we are building the UK’s first Pensions Dashboard. Next autumn it will show you all your hashtag#pensions in one place. You will see what sort of retirement you are heading for, whilst you still have time to course-correct if you need to.

It may not sound like a heart-pumping, high adrenaline, ride but these customers explain why it will help them, and millions of us, build Better Financial Futures.

It’s an uplifting 4 minutes viewing! Thanks to colleagues at The Pensions Regulator for capturing these great clips.

When we look back, we see that Government protects ordinary people who don’t have much else by way of protection. When the state lets them down, as for instance their failing to deal with the net pay/RAS injustice, I will doubly hard on them. The HMRC and HMT are failing low income savers into pensions and it is disgraceful.

But when Government produce something as fluent and meaningful as this video, I want to go round to their doors and give them a handshake.

As for Sara Weller, I love her belief to see “the ability and not the disability”. This attitude is what has made for a private pension system to compliment the state system which is at the heart of what most of us have in later life.

She finishes a post on social media with these words

I am so proud of the Money and Pensions Service team and our Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) colleagues working on this, and thanks to our commercial partners whose data will make this all possible.

There isn’t enough space on her post to include all who have done good things. I would like to add many but especially Richard Smith., who has done more to energise the private sector to support the Pension Dashboard than anyone.

Forget about those inside pensions and watch the video which reminds you of the need to make those outside able to manage their later life finances better.
