In video we get Jo Cumbo and Tom McPhail

Yesterday’s session of the Pension PlayPen followed a conversation between Will Hutton and Ashok Gupta that had explored another way of thinking about pensions. Both views are valid and both got a healthy audience who lined up to ask questions as we drew to an end.

The session is introduced by Tom with two important announcements. The first was made by the Pensions Minister on Monday morning in the Mansion House and launched a re-drawn timeline for delivery of change initiated by the Pension Schemes Act (with a bit around the edges such as Retirement CDC and various papers and consultationsfrom the DWP.

The second announcement was from Jo Cumbo who told us why she is leaving the FT at the month end. She is not retiring, or resigning but taking voluntary redundancy so she can write a book on DB transfers last decade and speak more freely of what she believes.
