Valentine’s day and death are bedfellows, the French referred to la petit morte as the high point of lovemaking while Baby Face Nelson (pictured) orchestrated the Valnetine’s Day massacre on February 14th.
So it’s no coincidence that Britain’s number one mortality expert, Stuart Macdonald will be appearing to talk and answer questions of death on Valentine’s day this year.

By day an actuary, by night he may be anything @actuarybyday got an MBE for telling it straight!
Stuart is of course not stranger to this blog as he orchestrates the activities of the Covid-19 Actuarial Response Group which used this blog exclusively during the early days of the pandemic to get key messages to the public on what science rather than politicians was telling us.
He made a difference and was honoured for it

The best think to come out of Bromley since Siouxie Sioux
Now Stuart, in new robes , will be updating us on what we need to know about our life chances and how the pandemic has impacted the nation’s health.
You can watch and hear him on Tuesday’s Pension PlayPen coffee morning – 10.30 am – 11.30am.
