561 Yeovil fans came from Somerset to London . 563 if you count these 2 fans in the posh seats or 564 if you count the referee who Wealdstone fans claimed to be supporting the Glovers.

We couldn’t show our colours till we were outside the ground but when we did it was with some pride. For the second Saturday in a row, we had won by 6-0 , this time away and with a penalty saved by Wealdstone’s hapless reserve keeper. “Reserve? The first keeper had been red-carded for a drop kick on our striker that could have won a wrestling bout.
We were with Wealdstone’s last surviving registered fan. For ten bob he got a lifetime registration in 1957 and Derek Tomlin has been coming on Lady Lucy since 2015, when he met me while he manned Cookham lock.
Wealdstone has the best pitch you could hope to play on and the most meagre facilities for those who come to watch.

I’ve promised myself not to blog about Yeovil as we are a club who once upon were in the Championship having beaten Brentford at Wembley to get out of a lower league. But I haven’t felt as good as this about my club since then… well not till yesterday,.
Thanks Wealdstone, you may only have a 4,ooo capacity but you let over a quarter of your attendance be for our supporters and our away support made up for a disappointing day for your match atmosphere.
This taken from the away end where we ought to have been (not stuck in the “posh seats”!)
