The freeholder lobby has bombarded this consultation while our supporters are looking after children or on holiday.

We need to balance it out with leaseholder responses, or Burnham will be bounced into Starmer’s betrayal.

We sadly saw this happen earlier this week on social and affordable homes funding.

Starmer chose to make the decisions before he left Number 10, leaving Burnham with no choice but to retreat from the council house revolution he wanted when the final details had to be announced on Monday.

Path dependency is a thing, even when a PM genuinely cares about an agenda. And remember: Burnham hasn’t once uttered the L-word yet…
