A studious article from Toby Nangle about life insurance in the States

I’m not insinuating he drank from all those wine glasses!

I won’t pretend that Toby Nangle’s articles are easy. This is not an easy article and it’s behind a paywall so if you want to read it , I’ve left some free links at the bottom of the blog. If the one you try first is used up, move down to the next. If both are used up mail me at henry.h.tapper@gmail.com , I have a few left for June.

I make this article available because the article is worth it. It is published in tandem with this blog which asks the same question “what is going on in the USA with insurance“.

It matters because the majority of the life insurers in the UK are ultimately owned by US private equity via various insurance and reinsurance companies based in the USA and Bermuda.

🚨 Do US insurers arbitrage capital regulations with private ratings?
