How the leasehold mafia screwed a generation of homeowners

Looking at the increasing amount of interest in the blogs that Harry Scoffin has produced for us, I reckon that we are getting worried about the fate of leaseholders who can’t move for falling prices, who pay the equivalent of rent in charges and who see no end to their problems despite the Labour party’s manifesto.

I am a Director of the company that was set up to manage our 30 flats in the City of London and it shocks me how many of the leaseholders are holding on to properties worth less than they’ve paid for them at any time over the past 15 years.

Here  is Harry talking to the Spectator about the fate of people and the leaseholds that they own which are more trouble than their worth.

If you think that this is nothing to do with your pension listen to this. Consider what it’s like if your retirement is being screwed by the Leasehold Mafia.

Listen on.
