I don’t often re-blog; but this piece of work is so comprehensive , I think it should stand on its own.

There is no easy answer to the “crisis” over University Pensions. It would be easiest if we asked how this crisis has arisen and what we can do, now it has escalated to current levels.

It is not too late to start again, but unwinding some of the entrenched positions adopted by both sides, is best done in the knowledge of factual information.

This technical explanation  goes a long way to explaining those facts and though you may not agree with their interpretation, they need to be addressed by both sides.
