What has Denmark got to help our Pensions Commission?

Some will say that all they got was a pleasant reception (pictured).  But those with open eyes and ears to more resilient ways of paying a retirement wage may want to follow Nick Pearce’s post. He is one of those asked to bring us a Pension Commission.

It is good to see that after a week in the Netherlands, the Pensions Commission team have been in Denmark. We have been learning from the Danish pension experts who have been talking to us about their similar state pension and their CDC style occupational schemes.

Nick Pearce is opening a discussion on how we should reorganise pensions in the UK. I had not expected this and I’m very glad we’re getting this West European experience.

I’ve been interested in the Danish solution ever since I read this Hymans report.
