Thoughts on pension scheme arguments in parliament

There is a very ancient wisdom behind those who feel uncomfortable with Government mandating how workplace pensions invest.

I leave my not very incisive comment in because I am behind the principal of non-interference (with Tom and Adam Smith).

But I am in practice of the opinion that there is a better argument for a threat to act here. To continue with what has happened with Mansion House to date will mean another period of waiting .  Tom has another friend up north, even further I suspect than he is!

But like me he is more with JK Galbraith’s pragmatism than Adam Smith’s perfection.

I agree with JK Galbraith and Byron McKeeby. We really need to get on with it and “perfect Government” like “perfect governance” is not necessary. Tom MacPhail is a perfectionist and too good for our time!

Thanks to Tom and Byron for creating some perspective to what had become a rather introverted discussion in parliament.
