Eton on the river as autumn starts

It is an amazing sight down our garden path, a rainbow draws your eyes from our lifebelt.

Or should I say a lifebelt to save those who fall into Thames’ Water! We hear rumours that a new ownership is on its way, but we are not swimming off our patio as we used to.

Fish do swim and very visibly as the water has been low for most of the summer, carp and tench eat the food left from duck, swan and goose feed we lay on the water. Woodpeckers, pigeons, magpies and crows fight the sparrows and chaffinches on the land-based feeders,

And when the shortening days end, the moon has its say, sailing through the trees and to Windsor castle.
