I seem incapable of doing the simplest thing , like making an appointment, I will restrict myself to this thank you to cricket for making us all remember one of the best series there can ever have been.
With 7 wickets left, with Root and Brook making it look easy and India looking like they’d lost the plot – you could get any price on India to win. They won and they did so by 6 runs -the connected blow that didn’t happen in the final over. Instead India bowled out England and left the series 2-2, we all know that was a fair result.
I have the delight of knowing that I can press “send” within half an hour of the end of the game, there is a strong wind blowing up to Vauxhall from where I sit in Eton and bringing with it weather that might not have allowed a result this afternoon!

It is nearly lunchtime and I hope that after letting my brain reset itself, I can get back to work. Right now, writing this blog and sending our Indian team congratulations – is all I’m up to!
