Champions again ole ole! Congratulations to Yeovil Town Football Club

Town beat Truro City 2-0 in Gloucester to secure promotion by becoming National League South Champions.

On the artificial pitch at Gloucester , on which Truro had played the night before, the performance seemed secondary to the season’s achievement but we shouldn’t forget Truro in this, playing a home game with a 220 mile round trip, we hope they remain in this league,

But we won’t and that’s down to this lot

I had commentaries from Three Counties and Radio Somerset on simultaneously. Well done both but especially to Sheridan Robins for her description of the championship winning moment

Sheridan and capture both the hurt of last season and the joy of this.

Of course in the cold light of morning, there remains the reality that Yeovil will again be a non-league side next season, But the team in green and white will be playing for a place in the football league and with the support we have (we would have had the 6th highest crowd in the league above us, on our 2024 attendances) there is no reason we cannot be promoted – back to back.

We were not too good for the National League South, we have been pretty bad of late, notably at Weymouth and against Wellling but we have a manager who means business and with good business over the summer , I am confident we can challenge.

Henry, you must be delighted to see you home team win their league and be on the way up! My original home team of Portsmouth look like they too will be champions of League one, and it will be a great relief when they return to the championsh after so many years and financial troubles.
