We’re on our way – on our way – Yeovil Town – could do it today!

We’re on our way,  on our way

To the Football League- we’re on our way

How do we get there? I don’t know

How do we get there? I don’t care

All I know is Yeovil’s on our way.

Never look back , always look forward. Yeovil are champions elect of the National League South and today I will be at Huish Park praying they get promoted as champions!

It could have happened last Monday at W*ymouth , but we won’t talk about that , except to say that Hayley Singleton , the fan taken ill at half time, is making a good recovery

I’m not a proper fan, only get to a handful of games and hardly get to the Huish at all.

Yesterday evening, coming down on the South West Train to Gillingham , I was wondering if I would be on my way. Then my resourceful Mum suggested I got insured for her Panda 500, so I’ll find a way to get to the ground today!  Thanks to Admiral – cracking service. It’s a sad state of affairs that to get from Shaftesbury to the Huish (20 miles) takes 4hr 12 minutes! You can’t get an Uber or a ZipCar down here!

four hours 12 minutes to go 20 miles

But today I’ll be in the Thatchers and like a child.  And like a child, I slept in my childhood bed last night, dreaming of football glory. The last time I slept there I was 16, us brothers swapped rooms when I went away to school, but my Mum let me sleep there again, because I was so excited.

Now my child has grown up with those dreams

Not alone!

There could be another record crowd, we’ve had two above 6,000 this year and I’m looking forward to some lusty singing, some banner waving and to spending time watching local cover band Warthog , before the game.

Thanks to Mum for letting me drive her car today. Thanks to Admiral for insuring me and thanks to Yeovil for sticking around.

Here’s the Devon Mackam after the Torquay game in November. Torquay went into administration this week. We’re hoping to help out on the pension side.
