You are cordially invited to attend our next online event. At our next Coffee Morning our Chairman, Henry Tapper, will be interviewing Michael Lawrence from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

Michael Lawrence is a technical specialist at the FCA, focused on advised and non-advised investment distribution models. He works in the team responsible for monitoring developments in the retail investment market and helping to determine the FCA’s future strategy and work programme for the sector. Prior to that, Michael was responsible for delivering key thematic reviews on pension/investment issues in the run up to, and following, the implementation of the Retail Distribution Review. He was also part of the Financial Advice Market Review Secretariat and set up the FCA’s Advice Unit.

Michael has been a leading light on Consumer Duty and will no doubt have a view on the possible merger of Regulators, the FCA’s role in LDI and maybe even the future landscape of Advice/IFA’s.

Should be an excellent session.

Henry Tapper says

“We’re fresh from completing our implementation plan and it was a salutary experience. Until you’ve completed your gap analysis , produced your project plan and organised your work streams , you have no idea what this is all about. This should be a great session , whether you are FCA regulated or not – the consumer duty is what regulation should be”.
