I find myself alarmingly close to getting a free buss pass – I am 59 today. My father once told me the first thing I heard was him telling off my Mum for breaking the two minute silence, I was born at 11 am. I had a Zoom from 10.30 to 11.15am and forgot to shut up at 11 – ground hog day.
It’s hard to have a memorable day when you’re locked down in a tiny flat, but I started with a plan.
I thought I’d try a little jog before breakfast to save myself a bus fare. I got as far as Tower Bridge and then this happened.

This is as close as I come to doing a Tom Cruise 40 foot base-jump.
Love the way this jogger is oblivious to what’s in front of her!’ pic.twitter.com/DOr7mdukOo

Thanks to Beeston for showing me a way forward

I got home , had my breakfast and my partner had made a real effort (thanks Stella).
By lunch, Mike Harrison on twitter was showing me up.
Is that what it is? I do the Blackfriars/Tower Bridge loop because I’m old and infirm. Suspect that’s more like 5k but it feels a marathon to me!

So I thought I’d jog the other way up to Westminster bridge , ensuring I didn’t pay that ruddy bus fare.
I forgot to turn left and jogged on to Tate Britain where find they’d put the Christmas lights on early
@TateShots Tate Britain not mucking about. Wouldn’t fancy their leccy bill! pic.twitter.com/pe5eJOZlVz

I went home and locked down. Tonight I’m having halibut for my tea.
The family had a group Zoom , it went on a long time.
Stella bought me a Fitbit. Clearly my weight-loss has not gone as well as I thought,
Thank you.
Thanks to everyone who has wished me happy birthday.
I hope this blog-let has cheered you up if you are down and made you laugh if you’re feeling ok.
Happy birthday and thanks for taking time on your special day to send such a cheery message
Happy belated birthday Henry. You did make me smile. I too have been doing more exercise during lockdown, partly as my wife has decided to use the time to hone her baking skills!
Happy birthday for yesterday Henry.
Your blog did make me laugh…….good to see that you didn’t try the same stunt as the guy in the red & white shorts! 😊
