Sir Steve Webb; IHT Changes & Pensions – a discussion.

Webb

We brought the Pension PlayPen session forward by half an hour to allow some people to hear McGrath and Keating on the run on/wind up debate for occupational DB pension plans.

Immediately after our pension was LCP’s session on inheritance tax and how changes to the taxation of “pension pots” will impact pension schemes and the people in them. I was one who went to both but I like many wanted to ask personal questions of our former pension minister Steve Webb.

To me, the changes introduced by the Government last budget are likely to have an impact on the wealthy, wealth management and the relationship they have with pension schemes and annuities. I hope in this session we will have the chance to question and discuss the social, economic and political impact of what is fast upon us (2027).

But we also need to understand the impact on schemes and those who administer them, this will not be as simple as I thought!

LCP have kindly made available to those who went to the event this summary which you might like to peruse before joining the meeting. The more we understand the subject, the better the discussion on Tuesday will be.

This chance occurs on Tuesday, here is the formal invite and the link to the event. We would of course like you to pay us back by joining our community and contributing to our costs but this, like all other events publicised on this blog, is free to readers.
