Are Trustees bothered- Rosalind Connor says they should be!

Rosalind Connor

Should Trustees be listening to employers from their pensions? Should they be worried about the financial strength of the employers whose workforces they run a pension scheme for?

In a fun but sophisticated presentation, Rosalind explained how the law has developed over the years to help Trustees answer these questions.

In the next couple of hours I will post the video of the event but here for now are the slides that accompanied Rosalind’s expert presentation.

A more accessible alternative to the PMI.

I understand that the capacity of a “sold-out” PMI event was less than 100 an amount that the Pension PlayPen can easily accommodate (and does).

Difficult subjects such as Fiduciary Responsibilities, do not need to be locked behind closed doors

My understanding is that the PMI sessions were active and interesting. Half the time in each slot was reserved for questions and the questions came loud and vigorously from microphones not Slido (which didn’t work even for the Pension Regulator).

I hope that the PMI will do what the Pension PlayPen does and make the conversations and presentations become available to others who could not get to the PMI DB Pensions Conference for whatever reason.

It is not as good to see these things on video rather than live but it is still worth watching as it allows for a better understanding of topics that otherwise do not get an airing.

I hope that I will have  the chance to spread a wider message but I will focus on Rosalind for now

Rosalind handles non-contentious Pensions matters, advising employers, trustees, investors and lenders in relation to the pensions legal framework. She has particular expertise in transactions and restructuring and also in advising on executive and private pension schemes such as SIPPs and SSASs.

Rosalind trained at Gouldens in the City and remained at the firm when it merged into Jones Day, becoming a partner in 2008. She was later a partner at Taylor Wessing and then Arc Pensions Law, where she was managing partner between 2020 and 2024 before joining Temple Bright.

Rosalind is a former chair of the Association of Pension Lawyers and the London Regional Group of the Pensions Management Institute. She is a regular speaker and writer on pensions legal issues, and has co-authored three books in the area. She has been regularly ranked in Chambers for many years, where she has been noted as “a brilliant legal adviser who gets straight to the point and gives clear advice.”
