Warning – advert – but a good one – from down under!

I’m interested in how Australia is working out “value for money” as millions of Australians move towards a retirement (epic or otherwise). Here is a rare advert for this blog but I am supporting Bec Wilson as she goes to Manchester and Pensions UK in a fortnight.
Warning – advert – but a good one!
Hey there! Bec here!
Today we’re launching something important — the Epic Retirement Tick, Australia’s first benchmark that shows which super funds are truly ready to support you in retirement.
Working with Chant West, one of Australia’s leading super fund research, data and analytics companies, we created an 18-point criteria to measure what funds offer people as they approach and move into retirement. Out of more than 100 funds across the country, only six qualified for the Tick in this first report.
With this report in hand, take the time to assess whether your fund is the right fit for your next stage of life, and whether they’re ready to support you well beyond full-time work.
Your future deserves a fund that’s ready for retirement.
Make it epic,
Bec Wilson

Let’s not use Australia as a blueprint, let’s ask ourselves what we can learn from it both “good” and “bad”. It is at the retail end of our thinking, Canada at the institutional. In Australia the emphasis is individuality, Canada collectivism. My guess is that we are somewhere in the middle.
