Value for morning with a true communicator.

Where is the drummer in your life?

I’m doing a morning listening to Ian Beestin on the VFM podcast. I’ve been listening to all these pods but frankly I haven’t had a good reason to bring your attention to them, the hosts have interesting people but they do not communicate quite like Ian.

This is the second time that Ian has appeared on a blog this morning, I worry that he may have an AI corrupter in my brain. This time I am listening to him talking about getting in my head, you can understand my concern.

I’ve finished now. I have to say it’s bloody good and well worth listening to. Paul Tinslay and Ruston Smith are also good people but their two podcasts were a bit boring on the pod and  having devoted an hour and a half of my life to listening, I couldn’t find anything to write about or publicise. Value for the morning goes to the drummer – where is he?!?

Ian’s conversation with the two hosts makes for a jolly experience as the daft drummer Beestin is someone everyone would want in their life. I was lying in a neurological ward trying to remember who was who when Beestin arrived – having made his way from Derbyshire to Nunhead – good on you Ian and your bank of mates

The genial but insightful Ian Beestin kept me listening for an hour and twenty five minutes discussing what catches people interest in statements of what they’ve got, what they could get and how to protect yourself and your family using pensions.

The genius is to tie ideas into real life, Ian is full of tales of work with LGPS, master trusts and a wide range of other schemes. It makes you realise how good communication can improve the value of our money.

Of course he can reach millions of people by teaming up with firms like Heywood. Administration may sound boring but if the outcomes are crafted by people like Ian and his teams, administration can deliver better pensions and better later life.

Money Alive, the name of his company could be the name of his band. It’s not but you can see how the two are tied together by Ian’s attitude. 50 ways to lose your pension is of course a re-take of Paul Simon’s song about going about destroying your love life. You get what I mean.

I guess that when you listen to these podcasts – week in and week out, you discover who you find lasting friends. I have hated some of these VFM pods but a few stick with me. No doubt you could go back and listen to over one hundred and come to the same conclusion.

But you have me to tell you, and I’m telling you to listen to Ian for an hour and 22.51 minutes. I am drinking tea from off a beer mat he left me in hospital.
