Tory wet gets message from above

Why does it always rain on me?

What a July 4th election amounts to is the first election since 2005 that I expect the Labour party to win. The election is the Labour party’s to lose and Labour are already making excuses for poor economic conditions in the early years of their (expected) Government.

The country may want change and not magical thinking that cannot be delivered. But a Labour party that denies people the hope that “things can only get better”, is about as damp a prospect as the weather conditions that Rishi Sushak delivered his announcement.

The electorate has for the next six weeks, more power than at any time in the years before and after. Power can only be handed back to elected politicians when elections have finished and – 14 years to the month since Conservatives came to power – we are likely to see a change.

When Rishi’s announcement came, it was hilarious. The heaven opened and more “Tory Chaos” ensued – no umbrella and no fun for Rishi – a bit like his term in power really.
