Not only is she a great athlete, she’s a great ambassador for British sport and for South London.

And for anyone who was in central London, Steve Goddard’s generosity for throwing a Pension PlayPen lunchtime drinks party, was amazing.

That’s my mate Aron Maus in foreground, Jon Spain behind to the left and Peter Cameron-Brown to the right. There were plenty of old friends and a few new ones, the spirit of the 10 years of Pension PlayPen lunches was revived at the Albion on Ludgate Circus.
