There’s an unusually heartfelt thread leading on our pension group this morning

It is very heartening hearing a pension consultant thinking in such a constructive way about longevity pooling and a Chair of pension trustees considering the long-term future of pension funds across generations. These voices struggle to be heard within the clamour of de-risking but the impressions I can see as group admin suggest these two posts by John and Callum are the most read on my site this week.
Thankfully, the flame is not dead yet. There are sufficient embers pensions to return to “catch a fire” , if we breathe on them.

Charles Ponzi gave such ideas a bad name, but Maurice Allais, Paul Samuelson and Peter Diamond, all mentioned in The Economist article, suggest otherwise.
