It’s the first day of summer . I wasn’t expecting to be thinking much of my team, Yeovil Town. But I am- after it was announced that we are now owned by a Dubai based family. It has issued a statement that begins rather ominously that the family considers itself “Glovers”. Yeovil used to make a lot of gloves but Pittards, its last factory, closed in 2023.
A more sensible for the family would be to make friends with Yeovil’s loyal support before telling them to buy season tickets. I live in London and don’t have a car, getting to see Yeovil’s home games is tough, I watch them play National League games up here and since I have had problems with my health, have not done much of this since November.
I do not claim to be a Glover, I support Yeovil but the Glovers are in this picture, supporting a town that hasn’t much going for it but a team and supporters that are famous.

Yeovil fans standing in the Thatcher’s end.
The fans have known the news a few days but it wasn’t till yesterday, the last day of spring, that we all got this letter.
Prabhu Srinivasan Open Letter to Fans
An open letter to supporters from Mr Prabhu Srinivasan upon completion of the purchase of a controlling interest in Yeovil Town Football Club by his family office.
Dear Fellow Glovers,
As you might be aware, our family office, Inflection Holdings, has purchased Yeovil Town Football Club. We are delighted to announce this transition in ownership, marking a transformative chapter in the club’s history.
We want to make a clear promise: we will work tirelessly for the values of this incredible club. Like you all, we want success on the pitch, but service to the community is equally important. You never truly own a football club; we are merely the custodians with a responsibility to provide steady and sustainable leadership for the foreseeable future.
As the famous Glovers song goes…
“A sign of a true supporter is the colour of their heart.
Day or night we will be green and white…”
First, a note of gratitude. We want to thank Stuart Robins for agreeing to come in as the club’s Executive Chairman and joining our investment team. Stuart has done a remarkable job in his short time in a leadership role; he is a tremendous asset to our cause and a true servant of the club.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Martin and Jack Hellier for a swift and smooth transition.
There has been much written about the situation at Huish Park over the last few weeks. With the transition complete, I would like to share with you, our treasured fans, a little about who we are and what we have planned.
Me and my family…
I have over 30 years of experience in banking, retail, technology, travel, real estate, e-waste and wellness. More importantly, I have built one of the largest multi-sports youth platforms in India and the Middle East. My wife, Bhavna, is a seasoned leadership coach and business strategist, widely recognised for her contributions to entrepreneurship and wellness integration.
Our son Sahil’s core passion is football. He has cultivated extensive football expertise, having trained in Spain, Germany, the UK & UAE under prestigious league clubs. He has designed proprietary programmes for youth training. His academic focus in sports science at New York University strengthens his deep understanding of football analytics and strategy. We now reside in Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates.
Why we fell in love with the club…
The potential, size, history and uniqueness of this club is fantastic. We truly believe Yeovil is a special club in the most wonderful part of England. I quickly fell in love with the area. On my first visit I had the real pleasure of visiting local landmarks, including walks in Montacute House’s garden, a concert in Sherborne Abbey and viewing the rolling countryside. When you live in a desert, it’s nice to see green grass!
But above all, we appreciated the dedication and skill of the team working at the club. Behind the scenes, a small, dedicated team works tirelessly to deliver for our players and fans. We hugely look forward to working with them.
Finally – and most importantly – you the fans! I attended the last home game of the season against Sutton United. The club had kindly offered me a seat in the Tam Main Stand, but I couldn’t resist joining the vocal fans in the Thatcher’s End. I just loved bouncing around with you, despite the result. In that short interaction, you made a ‘stranger’ feel very welcome.
Looking forward…
Like you, we are excited about the future. We will now start a period of development both on and off the pitch. In short, we want to put the businesses on a stronger financial footing. We understand that we need to invest to get the club to where we believe it should be. We are delighted to support the team on the pitch with a larger budget than they have received over the past few seasons.
Let me be clear – we want to see the team promoted back to where it belongs, the EFL. That said, we are fully aware of how competitive the National League is and that the main priority is the long-term viability of the club.
Together a Team…
We are ready to work hard, be innovative and show determination to improve all aspects of the club in the coming years. We will always be honest and transparent with you. We want to foster a close and trusted relationship with you where you feel comfortable sharing your concerns and ideas.
We want to invite you to Huish Park for a meet the owner’s event. This will be an informal evening, where we can meet and chat through ideas. We can also answer any questions you have. We have scheduled the event for Thursday, 12thJune at 7.30pm in the Glovers Lounge at Huish Park. More details on ticketing for the event will be released next week.
What we ask of you…
The best way to show your support is to ensure you are with us at every home match next season! We have prolonged the chance for fans to buy season tickets at early bird prices. By purchasing your season tickets, you make a massive contribution to the club and ensure we ‘pack the park’. Let’s make Huish Park a fortress next season! Book your discounted season tickets here.
Our commitment to you…
We are committed to delivering success for you, our amazing supporters, key stakeholders, and the wider Yeovil community. We are here for the long haul. We want to build a legacy for the local community that we can all be proud of. Your support means the world to this football club, and we are counting on it as we look ahead to the new season.
We are all in this together.
Thoughts from up North
With Yeovil having a crappy end to the season and finishing close to relegation from the National Division, I have been busying myself following St Johnstone and Partick in Scotland (both didn’t quite make saving relegation/getting promotion). We all had fun with our friends from Brighton seeing Union Saint Gilloise win the Belgian league.
A fan from St Andrews has sent me some context for Yeovil’s new ownership. This is his experience.
Welcome to the clubs with overseas owners club.
Carlisle United acquired by Floridians in 2023, St Johnstone by a lawyer from Georgia in 2024. And the rest….
We can’t all be Wrexhams.
My St Andrews United season ticket for 2025/26 will cost me £55, for 15 games.
with best wishes
Yeovil Supporters won’t accept its owners as “Glovers” until they see the Dubai Family Office turning up to watch – regularly!
These open letters from owners seem to be a feature of the early post-season.
My personal reaction is similar to when you’re watching the final stages of a game on TV and the commentators interrupt the flow to tell you what’s on next, sometimes in an unrelated sport, or in a post-match interview the winner (or loser) is asked what they’re doing next, instead of staying in the moment.
But it’s the modern way, I assume.
Here’s the St Johnstone owner’s letter:
To all Saints supporters,
Relegation is never in the plans for a football club, and it certainly wasn’t part of our plan for St Johnstone.
But, as heartbreaking as this is, we will dust ourselves off and go again. And I am referring to ALL of us. We will need your support next season more than ever before. If we have your support, we will restart our winning tradition.
First and foremost, we will back Simo. We have a visionary coach and a solid core group of players who will be staying with us for next season. Simo is just getting started on the project to return St Johnstone to its glory days. We have seen Simo’s tireless work ethic, as well as his aspirations and passion for our club.
Our coaches and players need the same enthusiastic support next season you provided this year. The Scottish Championship is gritty and challenging – and the team will need the boost that vocal supporters provide. We need to fill McDiarmid and the away ends when we travel to fuel a quick return to the Premiership. This is not the time to slacken in our resolve.
We are working tirelessly every day to improve your club. You have seen some of the results this season, such as more transparent fan engagement and the new scoreboard. You will soon see other upgrades, such as our new website, a lift at the stadium, the downtown shop and a fan zone before more home games. Simo also told us the number one thing we can do to improve player performance is to replace our existing all-weather pitch, so you will see that done this summer. Our goal always as owners is to provide our coaches and players with the tools they need to win.
What can you do? Our budgeting shows that our club will lose nearly £2 million in revenue next season as compared to our Premiership cashflows. This is simply the natural order when a club drops from the Premiership, especially when it intends to prioritise a quick return. Thus, we absolutely need you to do whatever you can to support our club, such as buy an early bird season ticket package before June 18. Encourage friends and family members to do the same. Visit our downtown shop on High Street in Perth when it opens and buy our new kit when it arrives. And I will see you at our first league cup game in July. With your support, we go again, and we win.
Thank you for your support this season. You deserved much better. We will never take your support for granted and are well aware that our standards must be higher in the seasons to come. We embrace this challenge. But we are not foolish enough to think we can do it without you. If you will have faith in us, and back Simo and the lads, you will be rewarded.
And so, after 140 years*, we all carry on the sacred trust of St Johnstone and we go again. Come on you Saints!
Adam Webb
*the arithmetic count back from 2025 hereabouts is moot. The club claims 1884 as its inception, yet newspaper records suggest the team’s first game was delayed until the following year. 141, 140? Neither are significant (x50 or x100) anyway.
While I have some sympathy with both players and fans having “a proper close season” to rest and get over what’s just played out for them, the financial realities are otherwise.
Small teams rely on season ticket sales in the close season months to pay players and other salaries, as there’s no turnstile income.
Or do you want to go back to the days of the maximum wage when a player might get, say, £12 per week during the season (the maximum before Eastham
and Haynes was £20) and £8 “in the summer”?
And this was Tom Piatak’s letter to Carlisle United fans:
“Dear Carlisle United Supporters,
“Today’s result confirms our relegation from Sky Bet League Two. Let us start by saying this clearly: we are deeply sorry. This is a painful day for everyone connected to Carlisle United.
“The frustration and anger felt across the fanbase is fully shared by us. As owners, we take responsibility – and we are committed to correcting what has gone wrong and rebuilding this club with urgency and purpose.
“The season started with ambition and hope. But the performances and results simply weren’t good enough.
“A strong finish in April couldn’t undo the damage of earlier failures. The table doesn’t lie – we fell short of the standards you rightly expect.
“Yet in the face of that, your loyalty has been extraordinary. From 11,000 at Brunton Park on Good Friday to almost 1,000 of you in Cheltenham today, you’ve never stopped showing up. That unwavering support is the soul of this football club. It deserves better.
“In recent weeks, Mark Hughes has helped rebuild the connection between the team and supporters. It’s a small but important step. It shows what this club can still become – and underlines how far we still have to go.
“That’s why a full, top-to-bottom review of Carlisle United is already underway. Football performance. Recruitment. Culture. Structure. Day-to-day operations.
“Everything is being examined. There will be no shortcuts. No excuses. No sacred cows. Where change is needed, change will happen.
“Throughout the season, we ensured the club had the financial backing to compete. That backing will continue.
“Relegation does not change our long-term vision – or our commitment – to get this club back on its feet and moving forward.
“Planning for next season is already in motion. Discussions with Mark Hughes are ongoing and positive. [He’s since extended his contract as manager.]
“The objective is clear: build a squad capable of promotion, backed by professional standards and modern infrastructure.
“We’ll have more to share with you after the final match. We will be transparent. We will be accountable. And we will not hide from the work ahead.
“To every supporter who stood by us this year – thank you. You are the foundation we will rebuild on. You are why this club still has a future worth fighting for.
“Now the mission is simple: To rebuild. To rise. To return.
“That work starts now.”
I’m not against going for the money early on, though I can’t justify my season ticket as I used to – it’s a bugger of a ground to get to from London. I think the prices are fair enough at Yeovil too. We’ve had the usual foul-share from previous owners and have very low expectations from the new one. Why anyone would want to live in Dubai and invest in Somerset is not clear!
Companies registered in offshore jurisdictions often have lower or no taxes on capital gains, dividends, rents and interest payments, which can be beneficial for club owners.
Great to see Dubai’s influence growing with Yeovil Town’s new ownership! Just like they’re building a stronger club, Ahma Technical Services helps build smarter workspaces with expert office partition installation in Dubai— structure and vision, on and off the field.
We will see whether Dubai and Yeovil are natural partners! It is certainly time that Yeovil got an injection of governance into its football club – and financial stability. Thankyou for your post Eugenia
