FOS – the hidden cost of “free”

These last two weeks I have been publishing the case of Gavin H as presented to the world by Steve Webb. I found this moving testament on Linked in, liked by many I know.

This is an advertisement from people providing legal services but (despite this) it contains some important statements. Going to FOS without your argument properly framed can cause no end of problems.

This shouldn’t be the case but it is , not least because there is insufficient funding of FOS to allow them to look behind the presentation to sift the serious from the frivolous claims.

The hidden cost of a free service like FOS is that without spending time (and most likely money on legal services) you are less likely to get justice. The system is tilted in favour of those who can afford to invest to get restitution.

I’m pleased that someone is  putting some planks for people to tread on as  they cross the FOS morass.
