Here is Ruth

I haven’t got access to Ruth’s article but I don’t need to speculate what is going on amongst Britains working offshore in Dubai and elsewhere in the area of the middle east aligned to America.

And of course this reaches out to offshore financial services which has enjoyed the benefits of a lifestyle not influenced by religion but very much influenced by money.

I have been to Dubai once – to watch sport – we felt nervous for a lot of reasons and we suspect that many of the wealthy Britains living in Dubai, Quatar and Bahrain are living a life that will allow them to return to Britain rich.

Which is why the headline is bad news and we hope for their sake, that this war does not cause the offshore wealthy a severe downturn in their fortunes.

Many could come back and maybe will, some cannot, for various reasons. But either way, the threat of disruption that the offshore workers are suffering now, should not be underestimated.
