    I am all for sorting out the fine points on maternity pay and anything else that helps boost wine’s pension rights within the current system.

    But these only tinker with the issues.

    Carers need to have their pensions protected when caring.

    Men need to share pension rights when women lose pension accrual when looking after their children and often them too. Absent dads too.

    Women need to be compensated for when looking after parents etc. This is harder. And needs some creative thinking and policy responses. By and large, men need to step up. One way and another.
