Former Tisa policy director Malcolm Small has died aged 62.
Most recently Small (pictured) was a special adviser at Copia Capital, an investment company run by platform company Novia, as well as heading up his own firm The Lyncombe Consultancy.
He was best known to advisers in his role at Tisa as policy director. It was at Tisa that Small helped champion platform re-registration, bringing together providers in 2009 to help solve one to the big practical problems of the time. The group worked to develop a standard contract and solve legal issues surrounding liability and indemnity that arise with electronic re-registration. .
Small was also a great supporter of ISAs and over the last couple of years had championed the pension freedom reforms.
Bill Vasilieff, chief executive of Novia, paid tribute to Small.
‘I’ve know Malcolm for many years as he lives close to me in Bath He was widely experienced in many aspects and roles within financial services but what I liked most was that he thought for himself and was never afraid to back his opinion,’ he said.
