For a summer’s day; the river and the racecourse (thx ITM and Lady Lucy)

“Sweet Thames Run Smoothly Till I End My Song”

wrote Edmund Spencer in Epithelameon.

Even on this day of high summer where temperatures will hit a scorchio 94 degrees, the Thames runs through Hurley imperturbable and serene.

As I write, wagtails bounce along the awning of a boat nearby, earlier a Kingfisher alighted on my flagpole, dwelt a second and then was away in a dash of colour.

Those who live on the river like my friends the Freebodys, know nothing else than this. But for me, this calm descends like a blanket of sleep.

Here are the memories of a weekend on the water (and an evening at the races).

A Saturday evening at Lingfield with ITM, John Mcriddick, the Bismark , Colin, Una and many many friends- thanks to all – !

  1. I do not even know the way I ended up here, however I assumed this submit was once great.

I don’t realize who you might be however certainly you are going to a
well-known blogger for those who are not already.
    Cheers!

Hello it’s me, I am also visiting this web page on a regular basis, this site
is really pleasant and the people are genuinely sharing pleasant thoughts.

  3. The other day, while I was at work, my sister stole my iphone and
tested to see if it can survive a 30 foot drop, just so she can be a
youtube sensation. My iPad is now broken and she has 83 views.
I know this is totally off topic but I had to share it with someone!
